LEARN TO LAUGH AT YOURSELF

Proverbs 17:22 – A merry heart does good, like medicine.

As a pastor I work with a lot of people. One thing that I have found is that many times people take themselves way to seriously. Of course, they’re not alone (LOL). I meet people in every walk of life who have too much doom and gloom in their attitudes. They simply need to lighten up! No matter how serious your work is, that’s no reason to take yourself seriously.

If any person had a reason to take his job and himself seriously , it would be the president of the United States. Calvin Coolidge was asked one time if he was going to attend the Sesquicentennial Exposition in Philadelphia. The President answered, “yes.”

“Why are you going, Mr. President?” asked the reporters. President Coolidge replied, “As an exhibit!” If you tend to take yourself to seriously, give yourslef and everyone else around you a break. Lighten up and enjoy life, you only get it once.

Recognize that laughter breeds resilience. Laughing is the quickest way to get up and get going again when you’ve been knocked down. Jesus said He came to give you an abundant life. Don’t you think its about time to enjoy every minute of it?

Have a great week,

Pastor Shane Warren
